Maria Fumaça — "Smoking Mary" in Portuguese — takes its name from an old Brazilian locomotive, and the interior leans into that heritage without being literal about it. Exposed structure, patinated metal, aged wood, and vintage Edison bulbs are the material vocabulary; the mood they create is one of a space that has been around long enough to develop character.
The bar is the room's anchor: long, constructed in reclaimed timber with a brass footrail, lit from above by a run of industrial pendants. The seating mix spans stools, high tables, and deeper lounge zones — a deliberate range that keeps the room alive from opening to last call. Every material in the space was chosen to age well.
