A school designed to be remembered.
Colegio del Sol — School of the Sun — is an educational facility designed around the belief that the quality of a learning environment directly shapes the quality of learning. The project challenged every assumption of institutional architecture: not corridors as circulation, but streets; not classrooms as boxes, but workshops calibrated for specific kinds of thinking.
Natural light is the primary design tool throughout. Orientation, window sizing, and internal finishes were all calculated to maximise daylight penetration while controlling glare. Social spaces — the library, the courtyard, the dining area — were treated with the same design rigour as teaching rooms, acknowledging that learning happens everywhere. The palette is warm and considered: terracotta, yellows, and greens that energise without overwhelming young minds.
